Sun News reader Mahalakshmi is an epitome of humility. Having worked in the small screen sector for over 25 years, she exudes an aura of positivity and wisdom.

While she developed a clear insight into her career goals pretty early in life, even as a child she showed keen interest in acting and performance. During her stint with Raj TV, she envisioned multi-tasking as a lawyer as well as an artist. During her younger years, she was often questioned if she would be able to aggregate both the professions. But she was determined to excel in both and that she did.

Advocate Mahalakshmi has been a successful practicing lawyer for over a decade now, along with her artistic achievements reflecting from the small screen as well.

She has also dwelled on the societal differentiations between men and women and how women are easily discriminated against by society. Her reasoning, stemming from her life experiences, concludes that one of the predominant contributors to a woman’s inequitable status emerges from family feuds. The bond between a husband and a wife is very sensitive. It is basically due to a disruption in this relationship that leads to a ripple of issues that eventually culminate into character-tarnishing and unwanted arguments. Advocate Mahalaxmi, through her exposure, knows that when couples argue, they invariably express the same sentiments about a situation except from different angles. And if we, as mortals, were to understand this, a lot of issues would be resolved immediately.

Besides being a Newsreader and Advocate, Mahalakshmi is extremely passionate about dance. As a multi-faceted artist, she also paints and considers exercising more as a hobby than a routine. As a book-lover and a person who loves to read, she is ever-willing to explore new subjects each day. She stays updated about all the day-to-day events and as an advocate she loves to read judgements. At times, she has stayed awake till 3 AM devouring pages and pages of interesting judgements.

The following is a short biographical account of Ms. Mahalakshmi (Advocate and News Reader, Sun TV)

For the past 25 years, Advocate Ms. Mahalakshmi has adorned the TV field by anchoring , news and so on. With no influential background, she worked hard to achieve the limelight and the status that she has acquired today. As an ardent fan, she credits her initial success to her friend priyadharshini and Ms. Khushboo, the current National Spokesperson for the INC, who was her role model .

Having recognised her abilities, producers immediately signed her up for several programmes. With more than 25 offerings in her kitty, in the nascent stages of her small screen debut, some of her first ventures included Kalluri Gallatta, neengal ketta paadal, candid camera , Vandhathum Varuvathum , Pudhu Padal , Odi Vizhaiyadu Pappa etc. As the face of Sun TV, at a time when the cable TV revolution had not caught on yet, Mahalaxmi was a beacon of light for the TV industry.

She was instantly famous and pretty soon was known as “Khushboo of the small screen” This was mostly because she emulated most of Khushboo’s dress and fashion sense and to a great extent commitment to the work she undertook, since she was her role model.

A voracious reader, she has always been interested in educating herself and started pursuing law. Though she did get many offers from the silver screen, she rejected them all to gain many qualifications. A few of them are M.Com and M.L. She is also a post graduate.

Ms. Mahalakshmi started her career as an anchor and now a newsreader. Today, she is an acclaimed advocate and a practicing lawyer for more than a decade. Her small screen career is spread across prestigious channels such as Sun TV, Raj TV, Nila TV, Jaya TV, etc.

As a responsible lawyer, she commits herself to her profession and strives to provide the best solution to anyone who comes to her for a counsel. Not missing a single consultation or phone call, lest her clients are deprived, she even attends her phone very late in the night and offers solace to anyone who approaches her. She takes it upon herself to assuage people and to provide justice to those who come to her with an issue. She is courageous and determined in her resolve to help those who are truly in distress.

A very conscientious individual she adheres to a strict daily routine in her personal life and like most successful individuals is health conscious too.
